TARANA COMMUNITY FARMERS MARKET
The Tarana Community Farmers Market is held on the 4th Sunday of every month from 10 am – 2 pm on the grounds of the Rural Fire Service shed at Tarana. Tarana is a tiny village situated mid-way between Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon in the central west of NSW.
Established in 2015, the market has grown from its humble beginnings to a thriving monthly event with over 50 stall holders. Products range from farm meats, free range eggs, fruit and vegetables, jams and preserves, cakes and sweets, breads and salami, local wines to live alpacas. Shady umbrellas provide a place to sit and relax while enjoying locally produced market food and coffee.
The markets also have another important function. Money raised via the stall holders is used to support the Tarana Rural Fire Service (RFS), or put towards other community projects. Funds have been used to provide equipment that helps enormously with the marvellous work the RFS does for the community. The Tarana Community Farmers Market proudly supports the Tarana Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.
