Highland Trout 4WD Adventure

Showcasing wild rainbow trout of the Oberon region.

12th to 13th November

2 action-filled days / 1 lazy night

A fully accommodated and catered 4WD Adventure staying in deluxe ensuite rooms at the Hampton Halfway Motel.

Day one:

Our offroad adventure starts in the Blue Mountains.  Grab a coffee at the Hydro Majestic Cafe and take in the views across the Megalong Valley to the Oberon Highlands  –  our playground for the next 2 days. This day involves visiting stunning lookouts, fishing for trout, and a picnic in the forest. At the end of the day, we reach the Hampton Halfway Motel by late afternoon where we check into our deluxe, well-appointed motel rooms. Enjoy a drink at the bar and admire the stunning balcony views before our group dinner in the Restaurant.

Day two:

After our hot breakfast at the Halfway Hotel, we take off towards the remote backwaters of Lake Oberon for a morning fish. Lake Oberon is well stocked with trophie-sized rainbow trout and most guests can land a good-sized catch with a little patience. Afterward, we go on a 4wd adventure thoruhgut the region arriving at the historic Tarana pub for lunch then from Tarana, it’s a relatively easy but picturesque drive past Evans Crown, to Lake Lyell, then onwards to historic Hartley, Mt Victoria – and home…

This fun weekend 4WD Adventure is graded as “medium” in difficulty.   It is suitable for standard 4WD vehicles with low range – with optional tracks and river crossings to suit your vehicle and sense of adventure!
